about AMY

For 16 years, I worked as a mental health therapist in a Portland, Oregon area emergency department, including during the first 2 years of CoVid.

When I worked overnights, I started the “Short Shake” —a one-song dance party complete with a plug-in disco ball for anyone on shift with 4 minutes to spare and an urge to ‘shake it off’. Moving, laughing, side-by-side with colleagues who knew the life and death stakes of our everyday.

I now work full-time in my own private art therapy practice and have created an updated version of the ‘Short Shake’ from the heart of the original.

These SHORT SHAKES aren’t work or therapy. It’s a series of 1/2-hour online virtual creativity sessions, guided by me, and specifically designed for healthcare workers. It’s a way to be among your people, and to begin, reconnect with, or expand a practice of creativity.

It’s an honor and privilege to have a little fun in the company of fellow healthcare workers. I hope you’ll join under the proverbial disco ball for the next SHORT SHAKE.
